French Empire Style Console
stock #179201NM1150
Description: This is an elegantly simple Console made during the middle part of the 20th century. It is directly inspired of the Empire period of Napoleon at the beginning of the 19th century. A long and beveled Mazy black marble sits above a straight and recessed belt mounted by a lovely bronze medallion depicting a sunflower. The belt is supported by a pair of turned columns, accented with acanthus pattern, connected to the straight back legs thanks to a bottom shelf. This latter is sitting on ball feet and provide stability and sturdiness. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1930-1940. Dimensions 34"high/ 52½"wide/ 14"deep.
