This is a magnificent and tall Buffet Deux Corps made from solid and beautifully patinaed oak by the middle part of the 19th century, commonly called Scene De Chasse (hunting theme) by the French. This impressive piece is boasting a breathtaking embellishment typical of the Renaissance revival period from the upper part featuring a splendid pair of doors mounted with their original stained glass panes, to the buffet below, intricately highlighted with a detailed 2-drawer frieze, sculpted in high relief, upon a stunning pair of recessed paneled doors centering hunting trophies. Beside the outstanding visual impact, this antique is also very convenient and offers a spacious storage capacity. Several scratches and dents can be seen all around due to the age. Locks on the upper and bottom doors are in working order. Circa date 1850-1860. Dimensions 97”high/ 56”wide/ 25”deep.
