This is a stunning Buffet made from solid and beautifully patinaeda Hungarian oak during the second half of the 19th century. This splendid Buffet is originally coming from the fantastic city of Liege located in Belgium’s French-speaking Walloon region (We strongly advise you to google the name of the city to see stunning pictures of the area as well as the famous Cathedral). Liege being after Paris the second larger city recognized for the high craftsmanship of its Cabinetmakers. The style Liegeois, directly inspired from the French styles and periods from King Louis XIII to King Louis XVI, is always boasting an intricate and detailed embellishment. This buffet, also called Enfilade due to its length consists of a step-front facade featuring three cabinets, each with recessed drawers and doors mounted with their original locks. Beside the visual impact, this enfilade is also very convenient thanks to the large storage capacity provided. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa date 1860-1870. Dimensions 40"high/ 74"wide/ 23"deep.
