Pair of 19th Century French Os De Mouton Cowhide Armchairs

This is a majestic pair of Armchairs made from solid oak by the end of the 19th century, inspired of the Louis XIII era, more or less two hundred fifty years earlier. Each boasting tall rectangular back standing upon a large and deep seat flanked by a pair of nicely scrolled armrests matching the pediment, which is pegged adding sturdiness. Such pediment is commonly called "Os de Mouton" (Sheep bone) by the French. This beautiful pair is covered by a stunning cowhide estimated to be a couple of years old. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa date 1880-1890. Dimensions 47 ½"high/ 19 ½”seat height/ 25 ½” wide/ 23 ½"deep.
