19th Century Antique French Louis XVI Style Commode

Description: This is a beautiful beginning of the 19th century Commode, commonly called Commode Transition by the French since it features both Louis XV and Louis XVI patterns. This piece is originally from Paris and consists of a thick and luxury veined Serravezza marble sitting upon an elegant step-front facade supported by cabriole legs with cast bronze sabots. The facade is very interesting and consists of a combination of rosewood, mahogany, fruitwood and ebony veneers. It features a three-drawer frieze with faux fluted inlaid design, each mounted with their original locks, which are in working order, above a pair of larger drawers, sans traverse, each with their original handles and highlighted with quarter-veneered pattern. Note the faux fluted canted corner. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa date 1810-1820. Dimensions 35"high/ 46½"wide/ 19"deep.
