18th Century Antique French Louis XIV Period Side Table
stock #700915NM1150
Description: This is a beautiful primitive side table made from solid and beautifully patinaed walnut at the beginning of the 18th century during the reign of the King Louis XIV. This piece of history is originally coming from Perpignan, a southern French city near the Mediterranean coast and the border with Spain (We would strongly advise you to google the name of the city to see beautiful pictures of this area and especially its 14th century Cathedral.). This table consists of a long rectangular top sitting upon a straight belt offering a very large and deep drawer supported by a trestle pediment. Note the slightly engraved frieze decorating the drawer as well as its original wrought iron handle. Several scratches and dents as well as other imperfection can be seen here and there on this more or less three hundred years old item. Circa date 1700-1710. Dimensions 29"high/ 35"wide/ 23½”deep.
